Overview:
One of Europe’s largest Tier 1 Main Contractor’s is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer for a major infrastructure project in Cork.
You’ll be joining a long established international contractor with more than 150 years of experience delivering complex buildings and infrastructure, with particular expertise across roads, bridges, rail, ports, airports, energy, utilities and major civil engineering works.
The project itself is a major new transport infrastructure scheme set for completion in 2028, it involves extensive road construction, structures, earthworks, drainage, utilities and associated civil engineering works.
It promises long term work in Cork, giving you the opportunity to spend the next number of years on one of the region’s most significant infrastructure developments while gaining excellent exposure to technically challenging heavy civil engineering works.
There is also a strong emphasis on developing people internally. You’ll have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers while continuing your own professional development, with structured learning & development and internal progression actively encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead site engineering activities and provide technical guidance and support to Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers and supervisors.
- Manage and verify setting out, ensuring works are completed accurately and in accordance with drawings, specifications and design requirements.
- Review construction drawings, specifications and technical information, identifying and resolving engineering issues before they impact programme.
- Manage quality assurance including ITPs, inspections, testing, site records and associated engineering documentation.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience working as a Site Engineer / Senior Engineer in Ireland.
- Previous experience on major roads, infrastructure, heavy civils or similar projects.
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction standards, regulations and practices.
