The Company
This international engineering contractor delivers complex power, renewables, data centre, pharmaceutical, and industrial projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe.
With a significant portfolio of secured power and renewable energy projects over the coming years, the company continues to expand its commercial and pre-construction teams and is now seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support the delivery of major substation and renewable energy projects from its Limerick office.
The Role: Senior Estimator
This Senior Estimator role will focus on the preparation and management of tenders for high-voltage substations, renewable energy infrastructure, grid connection projects, and associated electrical works.
Working closely with bid teams, engineering departments, commercial teams, and senior management, you will take responsibility for preparing accurate estimates, identifying project risks, coordinating tender submissions, and supporting successful project handovers.
This role suits a commercially aware Senior Estimator with strong technical knowledge of electrical infrastructure and power projects.
Must Have Requirements
You are a commercially focused Senior Estimator with experience pricing electrical infrastructure, power, or renewable energy projects.
You have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tender opportunities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and commercial awareness.
You are an effective communicator who can work closely with engineering, commercial, and project delivery teams to secure and successfully transition projects into construction.

Must Have Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline required
- Must have 5 years’ experience within the construction industry
- Proven experience required in a Senior Estimator or Electrical Estimator role
- Experience within the power, renewables, or electrical infrastructure sector required
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and high-voltage infrastructure projects
- Experience pricing substations, wind farms, grid connections, or transmission projects preferred
- Strong understanding of Design & Build contracts beneficial
- Experience managing multiple tenders simultaneously advantageous
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills preferred
- Previous experience working with major utility providers
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies
- Experience mentoring junior estimators beneficial
- Prepare detailed estimates and take-offs based on tender documentation and project scope
- Review technical specifications and employer requirements for substations and renewable energy projects
- Coordinate the tender process with engineering, commercial, procurement, and delivery teams
- Prepare technical submissions including exclusions, clarifications, assumptions, and programme information
- Manage the quotation process and evaluate supplier and subcontractor submissions
- Identify project risks, commercial opportunities, and value engineering options
- Support bid teams with pricing strategies and commercial reviews
- Follow up on submitted tenders and record client feedback
- Attend post-tender and negotiation meetings where required
- Participate in successful project handovers to delivery and construction teams
- Maintain accurate tender records and estimating documentation
- Support continuous improvement of estimating systems and procedures
