The Role Senior Mechanical Project Engineer
This is a key engineering role within the project delivery team, supporting the successful execution of mechanical packages from design through to commissioning and handover. You will play a central role in coordinating technical delivery, ensuring compliance, managing procurement and supporting site teams to deliver projects safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety standards across all project activities
- Review mechanical design drawings, specifications and technical submittals
- Coordinate with design teams and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
- Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and ensure timely delivery to site
- Monitor project programme and support delivery milestones
- Oversee quality of mechanical installations and ensure specification compliance
- Identify and manage variations, technical queries and design changes
- Attend and contribute to client meetings and internal progress reviews
- Support commissioning planning and handover documentation
- Maintain clear and accurate project reporting and documentation
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 4 years experience in a mechanical engineering or M and E contracting environment
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, pipework and mechanical systems
- Experience working across design, installation and commissioning phases
- Proven ability to manage technical coordination on construction projects
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and site teams
- Detail focused with a strong commitment to quality and deadlines
- Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
