The Role Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

This is a key engineering role within the project delivery team, supporting the successful execution of mechanical packages from design through to commissioning and handover. You will play a central role in coordinating technical delivery, ensuring compliance, managing procurement and supporting site teams to deliver projects safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety standards across all project activities
• Review mechanical design drawings, specifications and technical submittals
• Coordinate with design teams and subcontractors to resolve technical issues
• Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and ensure timely delivery to site
• Monitor project programme and support delivery milestones
• Oversee quality of mechanical installations and ensure specification compliance
• Identify and manage variations, technical queries and design changes
• Attend and contribute to client meetings and internal progress reviews
• Support commissioning planning and handover documentation
• Maintain clear and accurate project reporting and documentation

About You

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 4 years experience in a mechanical engineering or M and E contracting environment
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, pipework and mechanical systems
• Experience working across design, installation and commissioning phases
• Proven ability to manage technical coordination on construction projects
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and site teams
• Detail focused with a strong commitment to quality and deadlines
• Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
