Our client is a well-established international engineering contractor delivering large-scale data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial and mission-critical projects across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.
With a strong reputation for technical excellence and successful programme delivery, they continue to secure major data centre projects throughout Europe. Their Danish operation is expanding due to a substantial pipeline of work, creating an opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a flagship project in Fredericia.
The Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Based in Fredericia, Denmark, you will play a key role in the delivery of a major data centre project, working closely with the Project Manager, construction teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will manage mechanical engineering activities from design coordination through installation, testing and commissioning. You will ensure mechanical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements, quality standards and client expectations.
This role offers significant involvement across technical coordination, procurement, subcontractor management, quality control and commissioning activities on a complex mission-critical project.
Must Have Requirements
You are a mechanically biased construction professional with strong technical knowledge and experience delivering complex building services projects.
You have excellent coordination skills, can communicate effectively with project stakeholders and are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment. You understand the importance of programme delivery, quality standards and safety compliance while maintaining a practical, solutions-focused approach on site.
You are organised, commercially aware and capable of mentoring junior engineers while helping drive project success.

The Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Based in Fredericia, Denmark, you will play a key role in the delivery of a major data centre project, working closely with the Project Manager, construction teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will manage mechanical engineering activities from design coordination through installation, testing and commissioning. Must Have Requirements
- Must have 5 years' experience in a Mechanical Engineer or Senior Mechanical Engineer role with a mechanical contractor
- Proven experience required on large-scale construction projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial or commercial developments
- Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Experience coordinating mechanical installations through to commissioning is required
- Strong understanding of health and safety, quality assurance and project delivery processes
- Data centre project experience preferred
- Previous experience working on European projects beneficial
- Familiarity with BIM, coordinated services drawings and digital construction platforms
- Experience managing technical submittals, RFIs and procurement packages
- Commissioning and turnover experience
- Leadership experience mentoring graduate and junior engineers
- Additional project management or health and safety qualifications
- Coordinate mechanical design information and construction documentation
- Review technical specifications, drawings and mechanical submittals
- Manage RFIs and technical queries with consultants and design teams
- Prepare and review coordinated services drawings
- Support procurement activities including requisitions and purchase orders
- Verify delivery of equipment and materials on site
- Coordinate subcontractors and specialist vendors
- Assist with weekly progress reporting and project tracking
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments
- Monitor quality through inspections, snagging and system walkdowns
- Populate and manage test packs and commissioning documentation
- Support project commercial management including variations and cost-saving initiatives
- Attend technical and project coordination meetings
- Assist with successful testing, commissioning and client handover activities
