I’m looking for a highly skilled Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join a growing design team focused on data centre projects. This role involves leading the mechanical building services design on major projects across the EMEA region, managing the full lifecycle from concept through to client handover.
You’ll be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, ensuring the team stays on track with deliverables, and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers. Strong client engagement and technical expertise will be key, along with the ability to maintain the highest quality standards throughout project delivery.

Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer Skills:
- Based in Ireland, hybrid remote role with Dublin office attendance as required
- Minimum of 10+ years mechanical design experience
- Professional qualification (Chartered an advantage)
- Proven background delivering data centre projects (experience with major tech clients is a plus)
- Excellent communication and report writing skills — ability to explain complex issues clearly
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and building controls
- Experience with plumbing and drainage systems is desirable
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and delegate where needed
- Track record of training and mentoring engineers, with a willingness to support team development
As a Senior Project Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Leading the design of mechanical services on data centre projects
- Managing workloads, ensuring deliverables are produced to the highest standard
- Collaborating with clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions
- Monitoring and controlling project scope to avoid overruns
- Reporting progress to management and maintaining transparency across teams
- Driving quality control and ensuring all outputs align with best practice and standards
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members, helping them grow into future leaders
