Senior Quantity Surveyor – Civils & Groundworks

With multiple high-value projects underway and a growing commercial workload, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial performance of civils and groundworks packages from their Wicklow base.
The Role – Senior Quantity Surveyor
As Senior QS, you will take commercial ownership of several projects, managing cost control, procurement, valuations, reporting, and contractual administration across a range of residential and commercial civils schemes.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and senior leadership, ensuring profitability, risk management, and commercial efficiency across all operations.

The Role – Senior Quantity Surveyor
As Senior QS, you will take commercial ownership of several projects, managing cost control, procurement, valuations, reporting, and contractual administration across a range of residential and commercial civils schemes.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and senior leadership, ensuring profitability, risk management, and commercial efficiency across all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all cost-related aspects of civil engineering and groundworks projects.
- Prepare valuations, cost reports, cashflows, and monthly financial forecasts.
- Lead subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, negotiations, and appointments.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, variations, and final accounts.
- Provide commercial advice to the project team and senior management.
- Ensure accurate measurement of works (onsite and via drawings).
- Assess risks, identify opportunities, and implement value engineering.
- Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company in commercial meetings.
- Mentor junior QS staff and support continuous improvement across the commercial team.
About You
- 7+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying within civils, groundworks, or infrastructure.
- Proven ability to commercially manage multiple civils/groundworks projects.
- Strong understanding of residential and commercial civils packages.
- Excellent negotiation, reporting, and financial management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a strong commercial team.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
- Full clean driving licence.
