The Company
A reputable Irish main contractor with a strong track record of delivering large scale education, commercial and public sector construction projects across Dublin and the wider Leinster region.
With a strong pipeline of projects and a focus on quality construction, programme delivery and commercial performance, this contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major school development in South Dublin.
The Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
This is a Senior Quantity Surveyor position on a large scale school construction project in South Dublin, offering responsibility for the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager and site team, overseeing subcontractor packages, cost reporting, valuations and contractual matters to ensure the project is delivered within budget.
The role will suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable taking commercial ownership of a major building project and managing relationships with subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team.

About You
You are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contractor background and a proven ability to manage the commercial delivery of large scale construction projects.
You will have excellent knowledge of procurement, cost management, contracts and subcontractor accounts, along with the confidence to make commercial decisions and protect project margins.
You will be organised, commercially aware and comfortable working with project teams to ensure costs are controlled and contractual obligations are met.

- Must have 7+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying on construction projects.
- Proven experience working with a main contractor in Ireland is required.

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience on school, education or public sector construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts and commercial reporting procedures.
- Experience managing major subcontractor packages and working closely with site management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial aspects of the school construction project from procurement to final account.
- Oversee subcontractor tendering, procurement and appointments.
- Prepare and manage monthly cost reports, forecasts and valuations.
- Identify, assess and manage variations and contractual claims.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow and commercial risks.
- Manage subcontractor payments, accounts and final account negotiations.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and site team to monitor progress and costs.
- Maintain strong commercial control throughout the construction programme.
- Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and client representatives on commercial matters.
