The Role – Site Manager

This is a key site leadership role on a hydrogen infrastructure project within a live power station environment in Cork. You will take full responsibility for managing day-to-day site operations across enabling and civil works, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, on programme and to a high standard.

The project includes trenching, underground services, concrete works and associated civils to support specialist hydrogen equipment installation. You will be working in a highly regulated environment with strict permit systems and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all site activities with a strong focus on health and safety in a live operational environment
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors across civil works including utilities, trenching and concrete
• Ensure works are delivered in line with programme milestones and sequencing requirements
• Oversee quality control and ensure all works meet project specifications and standards
• Implement and manage permit to work systems and site safety procedures
• Liaise with client representatives, engineers and stakeholders on site
• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports and progress updates
• Identify and resolve issues proactively to avoid delays or safety risks

About you:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Background in heavy civils, utilities, industrial or energy sector projects
• Experience working in live environments with strict safety and permit systems
• Strong knowledge of groundworks, underground services and concrete works
• Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive site teams
• Highly organised with a focus on programme delivery and quality
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and site compliance
