The Role: Structures Agent / Project Manager
An experienced Structures Agent / Project Manager is required to take responsibility for the delivery of major structural works on a large-scale motorway project in Cork.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will oversee bridge construction, reinforced concrete structures, retaining walls, culverts, temporary works and associated civil engineering activities.
This is a senior site-based position with responsibility for programme delivery, subcontractor management, technical coordination, commercial performance and health and safety.
You will work closely with the engineering, commercial and site management teams to ensure structural works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with TII specifications.

About You
You are an experienced Structures Agent, Civil Engineering Project Manager or Senior Civil Engineer with a strong background in major infrastructure and structural concrete construction.
You understand the technical challenges involved in bridge construction, temporary works and complex reinforced concrete structures, and you are comfortable taking ownership of significant work packages.
You will be confident managing engineering teams and subcontractors, making practical decisions on site and maintaining progress against demanding construction programmes.
Strong communication, technical knowledge and commercial awareness will be important in this role.

Must Have Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing major bridge structures, reinforced concrete works or complex civil engineering projects.
- Temporary Works Coordinator qualification required.
- Strong experience managing engineering teams, subcontractors and structural construction programmes.
- Previous experience working with a main contractor on major infrastructure or heavy civil engineering projects.
Preferred Experience
- Experience delivering motorway, national road or major transport infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of TII specifications, NEC contracts and construction project controls.
- Experience with bridge construction, falsework, formwork, propping and complex temporary works.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the safe and efficient delivery of bridge structures, retaining walls, culverts and reinforced concrete works.
- Coordinate site engineers, supervisors, specialist subcontractors and construction teams.
- Oversee temporary works planning, design coordination, inspections and implementation.
- Manage construction programmes, resources and sequencing to achieve key project milestones.
- Ensure all works comply with TII specifications, approved drawings, quality standards and contract requirements.
- Review RAMS, construction methodologies, inspection and test plans and technical documentation.
- Identify and resolve engineering challenges, design interfaces and construction risks.
- Work closely with the commercial team on variations, contractual changes and cost control.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety through regular site inspections and compliance checks.
- Report progress, programme risks and technical issues to senior project management.
