Tendering Engineer Skills:
- A relevant qualification in Engineering or Quantity Surveying (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tendering, estimating, or project engineering capacity
- Prior exposure to HVAC, mechanical, or building services environments is highly advantageous
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills
- Confident presenting to internal stakeholders and external clients, including board-level presentations
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Sound understanding of building regulations and industry best practices
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
- Flexible approach, with occasional travel to project sites nationwide as required
- Irish construction experience
As a Tendering Engineer:
- Prepare and submit detailed, high-quality proposal documentation to secure new project opportunities
- Lead value engineering exercises across a diverse range of projects, including commercial, pharmaceutical, data centre, residential, and healthcare sectors
- Conduct technical and commercial assessments of subcontractor and vendor packages
- Evaluate and enhance internal practices with a view to improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Accurately quantify material, labour, and plant requirements
- Manage cost projections and track financial performance using internal ERP systems
- Engage in supplier and subcontractor negotiations to ensure competitive procurement
- Raise and manage tender queries, and compile comprehensive tender reports
- Gather and structure all relevant project information to support bid preparation
- Develop and maintain project-specific procurement schedules
- Produce clear, structured cost estimates and reporting documentation
- Facilitate smooth and thorough handovers to the project delivery team
