The Role – Building Services Engineer
As Building Services Engineer, you will support the management and coordination of all mechanical and electrical services across high density residential projects in Galway. Reporting to the Building Services Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring M&E systems are delivered to specification, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
You will be involved from design coordination through installation, commissioning and final handover, working closely with site management teams, consultants, subcontractors and utility providers. Your contribution will directly impact project quality, compliance and successful delivery.

Salary: €65,000 to €70,000 DOE plus package

The Role – Building Services Engineer
As Building Services Engineer, you will support the management and coordination of all mechanical and electrical services across high density residential projects in Galway. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the installation quality of mechanical and electrical systems from early coordination through to commissioning and handover
- Support site management teams with M&E coordination and technical problem solving on residential construction projects
- Coordinate MEP services with architectural and structural elements to avoid clashes and programme delays
- Oversee M&E subcontractors on site, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and quality expectations
- Liaise with utility providers and local authorities for electricity, gas, water, public lighting and telecommunications connections
- Manage service diversions and upgrades where required to support new developments
- Contribute to value engineering and innovation in mechanical and electrical design for energy efficient residential buildings
- Oversee temporary electrical and water systems on active construction sites
- Ensure all works comply with current building regulations, health and safety standards and company quality procedures
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Minimum 4 years post qualification experience in a Building Services Engineer or MEP coordination role
- Experience on residential construction projects, ideally high density housing or apartment developments
- Strong understanding of M&E systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, water services and fire alarm systems
- Comfortable managing subcontractors and working closely with site based construction teams
- Strong coordination, communication and problem solving skills
- Organised, self motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Committed to quality, programme delivery and high standards of workmanship
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites as required
