The Role: Civils Foreman
As Civils Foreman, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of civil works on a wastewater treatment plant project in Kilkenny.
Working closely with the Site Engineer and Project Manager, you will oversee site crews, subcontractors and daily construction activities, ensuring works are completed safely, to specification and in line with the construction programme.
The project will involve reinforced concrete structures, drainage, underground services, pipework, excavation and associated civil engineering works.
This position would suit an experienced Civils Foreman with a strong background in water infrastructure, utilities or heavy civil engineering projects.
Must Have Requirements
Preferred Experience
You are an experienced Civils Foreman who understands the practical challenges of delivering civil engineering works on a busy construction site.
You will have a strong background in reinforced concrete, drainage, utilities or water infrastructure, with the ability to organise site crews and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
You take a hands-on approach to site management, communicate well with engineers and management, and understand the importance of delivering works safely and to programme.
Experience working on wastewater treatment plants or similar infrastructure projects would be particularly beneficial.

- Must have 5+ years' experience in a Civils Foreman or General Foreman role on civil engineering projects.
- Proven experience required in reinforced concrete works, drainage, earthworks or underground services.
- Experience supervising site crews and subcontractors on Irish construction projects is required.
- Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements and construction programme delivery.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience on wastewater treatment plants, water treatment facilities or pumping stations.
- Experience coordinating concrete works, pipework installation and underground services.
- Familiarity with Uisce Éireann infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read construction drawings and coordinate works with site engineers.
- Oversee daily civil engineering operations on the wastewater treatment plant project.
- Manage site crews, plant, machinery and subcontractors to maintain progress against programme.
- Supervise excavation, drainage, reinforced concrete, pipework and associated civil works.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers to ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety across all site activities.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout construction.
- Plan daily and weekly activities, ensuring labour, plant and materials are available when required.
- Attend site coordination meetings and provide progress updates to the Project Manager.
- Identify potential programme delays and work with the project team to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, progress and resources.
