The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing the full commissioning process across a range of HV and MV power system projects. Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) commissioning experience.
- Strong knowledge of Protection, Automation and Control (PAC) systems.
- Proficiency in the use of electrical commissioning test equipment and relevant software tools.
- Experience developing and implementing commissioning and testing procedures.
- Understanding of electrical protection relays, system studies, and power systems design.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Desirable Attributes
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems and continuous improvement processes.
- Ability to act as a client representative on-site and manage subcontractor activities.
- Experience in documentation control, record keeping, and report generation.
As a Commissioning Engineer, you will:
- Manage the full commissioning process from project handover to completion, documentation, and project close-out.
- Develop and maintain schedules of work, providing regular progress updates and coordination with stakeholders.
- Commission medium-voltage switchgear, current and voltage transformers, Rogowski coils, power and distribution transformers, protection relays, power quality meters, HMI/supervision systems, and HV cables.
- Program and test relay I/O, logic, and protection settings.
- Review tender, design, construction, and as-built drawings, ensuring accurate documentation and record control.
- Identify and communicate critical commissioning requirements, including discrimination and protection coordination studies.
- Develop, issue, and maintain testing and commissioning procedures and pre-commissioning protocols.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Cold Commissioning, and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
- Represent the company on customer sites, liaising with clients, contractors, and third parties to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
- Supervise, witness, and sign off pre-commissioning and commissioning tests on behalf of the client where required.
- Review, sign off, and hand over project documentation.
- Record and report non-conformances, and contribute to incident and complaint investigations as necessary.
- Support the continuous improvement of commissioning systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
