This international main contractor delivers some of Europe's most complex data centre, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and advanced technology projects.
With a strong pipeline of major developments across the Nordic region, the company continues to expand its Building Services and Commissioning teams and is now seeking an experienced Commissioning Lead to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre project in Norway.
The Role: Commissioning Lead
The Commissioning Lead will take overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, and managing all commissioning activities across a major data centre development.
Working closely with engineering, construction, operations, consultants, subcontractors, and client teams, you will ensure all systems are installed, tested, commissioned, and handed over in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements, and industry standards.
This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and experience delivering commissioning activities on large-scale mission critical projects.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Commissioning Lead with a proven track record delivering commissioning activities on large-scale data centre, mission critical, pharmaceutical, or advanced technology projects.
You possess strong technical knowledge across mechanical, electrical, and building services systems and are confident managing complex commissioning programmes from installation through to final handover.
You are highly organised, technically strong, and capable of leading multidisciplinary teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme performance.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading commissioning activities on large-scale construction projects is required.
- Data centre, mission critical, pharmaceutical, or advanced technology project experience is required.
- Strong understanding of commissioning methodologies, integrated systems testing, and project handover processes is essential.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills are required.
- Experience managing Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing activities preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, controls, and building services systems beneficial.
- Experience with commissioning software, digital project delivery tools, and structured commissioning processes advantageous.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE, IEEE, IEC, or equivalent industry standards preferred.
- PMP, Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), or equivalent certification.
- Experience working on hyperscale data centre developments.
- Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering platforms.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
- Develop detailed commissioning plans, procedures, programmes, and commissioning schedules.
- Coordinate commissioning activities with engineering, construction, operations, and client teams.
- Ensure commissioning milestones align with overall project delivery programmes.
- Review designs, technical specifications, drawings, and project documentation to ensure commissioning requirements are incorporated.
- Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
- Manage pre-commissioning, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and performance verification activities.
- Ensure all systems are tested for safety, performance, reliability, and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues arising during commissioning activities.
- Oversee all site-based commissioning operations while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate system handovers and ensure operational readiness prior to client acceptance.
- Manage commissioning documentation including test records, punch lists, reports, and certification records.
- Prepare commissioning reports, lessons learned documentation, and project close-out information.
- Ensure all as-built information and final certification documentation is completed and issued.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to commissioning engineers, supervisors, and specialist subcontractors.
