The Role: Contracts Manager

Based in Co Mayo, this Contracts Manager role will oversee the delivery of MEICA contracts across the West of Ireland, managing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.

You will work closely with Project Managers, design teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget. The role involves managing water and wastewater treatment installations with a strong Mechanical, Electrical and ICA focus.

This position suits an experienced Contracts Manager with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, ideally within the Irish utilities, water, wastewater, or industrial sector.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have experience delivering mechanical and electrical projects within construction, utilities, water, or industrial sectors
• Proven experience required managing multiple contracts and project team
• Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering qualification required
• Experience with subcontractor management, procurement, and commercial coordination is essential
• Full clean driving licence required

Preferred Experience

• Water and wastewater treatment project experience preferred
• MEICA project delivery experience beneficial
• Experience reviewing mechanical and electrical designs advantageous
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures on live sites
• Experience mentoring Project Managers or Engineers beneficial

Nice to Have

• Electrical or Mechanical trade background
• Experience with off-site manufacture or modular delivery methods
• Strong commercial reporting experience
• Knowledge of commissioning and process systems

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of MEICA contracts across the West of Ireland
• Manage water and wastewater pumping and treatment installations
• Review tenders and develop project delivery programmes
• Coordinate smooth handover from tendering to project delivery teams
• Manage subcontractors, procurement, and supply chain coordination
• Oversee project programmes, invoicing targets, and commercial performance
• Lead regular contract review meetings with project teams
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders throughout delivery
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
• Review engineering reports, method statements, and commissioning schedules
• Monitor Health & Safety compliance across all live projects
• Mentor engineers and support team development within the contracts division
• Contribute to business growth and contracts strategy planning

About You

• Strong background managing engineering or MEICA projects in Ireland
• Commercially aware with experience managing project delivery programmes
• Confident coordinating multiple stakeholders and site teams
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical installation
• Organised and capable of managing multiple live contracts simultaneously
• Hands-on management style with strong attention to programme delivery and safety
• Comfortable working closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
