You are an experienced Controls & Automation Technician / Commissioning Engineer looking to join the team working on water and wastewater projects across Ireland and the UK based out of Co Kildare. This role offers the chance to work with a well-established contractor on exciting infrastructure projects, where you’ll play a key part in the delivery and commissioning of
automation and control systems.

Controls & Automation Technician Skills:
- A Level 6 National Craft Certificate (Electrical or Instrumentation).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an industrial or process commissioning role.
- Strong problem-solving ability and technical aptitude.
- Solid understanding of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and commissioning practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Experience in PLC & HMI programming would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in the water or wastewater sector is a distinct plus.
As a Controls & Automation Technician:
- On-site validation and commissioning of PLC-based electrical control systems and instrumentation.
- Testing and commissioning of electrical equipment on-site.
- Checking and verifying MCC panels, electrical and instrumentation wiring schematics.
- Coordinating with electrical and mechanical teams to achieve key project milestones.
- Carrying out fault diagnostics, troubleshooting, and modifying existing control and automation systems.
- Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) to ensure systems meet design and client requirements.
- Monitoring and fine-tuning instrumentation, PLCs, and control systems for optimal performance.
- Preparing technical specifications, supervising subcontractors, and generating project documentation including FDS and I/O lists.
- Ensuring all electrical and instrumentation works are completed in line with relevant standards and health & safety procedures.
