You are an experienced Electrical Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for electrical packages across active and upcoming infrastructure projects based out of Co Kildare. You will be expected to manage the entire commercial cycle, from early-stage estimating and procurement through to final accounts and closeout, while working closely with internal project teams, subcontractors, and clients.

This is a site-informed, delivery-focused position that demands a strong understanding of electrical systems and how they integrate within broader project scopes. The role involves detailed cost control, risk management, change control, and the ability to produce accurate, contractually robust documentation. It also requires close engagement with subcontractor accounts, remeasurable works, and effective variation management.

You should be confident operating in a fast-paced environment, where technical detail and commercial accuracy go hand in hand. Prior experience in sectors such as civils, power, renewables, or data centres is advantageous.

Electrical Quantity Surveyor Skills:  
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and how they impact commercial delivery.
  • Confident managing electrical subcontractors, procurement, and package performance.
  • Capable of estimating electrical works from first principles.
  • Good knowledge of standard forms of contract and remeasurable works.
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable with full Microsoft Office suite.
  • MRICS or working towards it is ideal.
  • Experience in sectors like civils, renewables, data centres, or heavy industrial a bonus.
  • Driving licence and relevant safety/competency cards.

As an Electrical Quantity Surveyor:  
  • Full commercial responsibility for electrical packages on live sites.
  • Prepare and submit valuations and applications for payment with full backup.
  • Produce and maintain cost reports, subcontractor accounts, and procurement schedules.
  • Oversee contract administration and change control, keeping documentation clean and compliant.
  • Handle measurement of works, remeasurable contracts, and keep a close eye on variations and risk.
  • Prepare Cost to Complete forecasts and Risk Registers.
  • Track cash flow, margins, and WIP and put improvement plans in place where needed.
  • Support project teams with budget control and cost mitigation strategies.
  • Support and guide junior QS staff where required, mentoring and delegating without losing ownership.
  • Help embed commercial awareness across the site teams.
  • Ensure site teams are following the correct processes and governance structures.
  • Attend commercial meetings and support client interactions with contractually sound reporting.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors, ensuring communication is clear and professional.
  • Support EOT claims and change events with solid evidence and reasoning.
  • Get stuck into internal improvement initiatives and innovation projects.
  • Join in on client feedback meetings and other commercial engagements.

The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €80,000 plus package.
