The Role: Senior Design Manager
As Senior Design Manager, you'll take responsibility for managing and coordinating the design process across major modular and offsite construction projects in Dublin.
Working closely with architects, structural engineers, building services consultants, manufacturing teams and project management, you'll ensure designs are fully coordinated, technically compliant and suitable for manufacture and installation.
You'll oversee design programmes, manage technical submissions, coordinate design information and ensure all design deliverables are issued in line with project and manufacturing requirements.
This is a senior position requiring strong technical knowledge and a practical understanding of how design decisions affect buildability, programme delivery, quality and cost.
Must Have Requirements
You'll be an experienced Senior Design Manager with a strong background in architectural technology, construction detailing and multidisciplinary design coordination.
You'll understand the practical challenges involved in taking designs from concept through detailed design, manufacturing and site installation, particularly where programme, quality and buildability are critical.
You'll be confident working with Revit and AutoCAD, coordinating consultants and managing design information across several project disciplines.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing design priorities will be important.
Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor, modular construction company or design consultancy is required, while direct experience in offsite manufacturing would be particularly beneficial.

- Must have 7+ years' experience with a Tier 1 contractor, Tier 2 contractor, modular construction contractor or design consultancy.
- NFQ Level 7 qualification in Architectural Technology required.
- Must be proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong experience in construction design coordination, technical detailing and design management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience in modular construction, offsite manufacturing or panelised building systems preferred.
- Previous experience managing multidisciplinary design teams on substantial construction projects.
- Strong understanding of BIM coordination and design information management.
- Experience coordinating architectural, structural and building services designs.
- Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and construction compliance requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the design process across modular and offsite construction projects.
- Lead design coordination meetings with architects, engineers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
- Develop and manage design programmes, ensuring technical information is issued in line with manufacturing and construction schedules.
- Review architectural drawings, technical specifications and construction details.
- Coordinate structural, architectural and mechanical and electrical design information.
- Identify and resolve design clashes, technical issues and buildability concerns.
- Work closely with manufacturing and site teams to ensure designs are suitable for offsite production, transport and installation.
- Manage design deliverables, technical submissions, approvals and outstanding design information.
- Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations, project specifications and quality standards.
- Support Project Managers and construction teams in resolving design-related programme risks.
- Monitor design changes and assess their impact on cost, programme and construction delivery.
