As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll assist in the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems within live and new-build treatment facilities, pump stations, and network upgrades.

You will gain hands-on experience with mechanical installations, tender documentation, project scheduling, commissioning, and QA/QC procedures—developing the practical expertise to grow within a leading civil utility contractor.

For those eager to learn more about this exciting opportunity, please do not hesitate to reach out to Stephen at stephen@breaghrecruitment.com / 015314345

  • Site-based internship or co-op experience with a civil, mechanical, or utilities contractor.
  • Experience using Revit or Navisworks for coordination (bonus but not required).
  • Knowledge of HSQE practices and SafePass certification.

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer:
  • Assist senior engineers and project managers in delivering mechanical aspects of water and wastewater projects.
  • Support the preparation and review of P&IDs, GA drawings, mechanical layouts, and equipment schedules.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of mechanical equipment.
  • Conduct site inspections, assist with mechanical installation monitoring, snagging, and final commissioning.
  • Participate in the preparation of O&M manuals and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, HSE officers, and design teams to ensure technical compliance and health & safety adherence.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for plant and mechanical system issues.
