This well established mechanical engineering contractor has built a strong reputation delivering piping, steelwork and mechanical installation projects across Munster. Working across industrial, pharmaceutical and manufacturing environments, they are known for high quality fabrication standards and reliable project delivery.

With continued growth across Cork, Tipperary, Waterford and Limerick, they are expanding their engineering team to support an increasing pipeline of technically demanding projects. The company offers a collaborative environment where engineers gain exposure across design, fabrication and site delivery.

The Role Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role across procurement, fabrication and installation phases of multiple projects. You will work closely with workshop teams, site crews and clients to ensure all mechanical systems, piping and steelwork installations meet strict quality, safety and compliance standards.

This is a hands on role offering a mix of office, workshop and site based work, ideal for an engineer who enjoys full project involvement from early procurement through to installation and completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all mechanical works comply with industry standards, client specifications and safety requirements
• Prepare Bills of Materials and support procurement of mechanical components and systems
• Coordinate fabrication activities with workshop teams to maintain programme targets
• Carry out inspections across materials, fabrication and installation of piping and steelwork
• Work closely with site teams to ensure installations are completed to specification and quality standards
• Attend client meetings and provide technical support throughout project delivery
• Prepare progress reports and assist with planning and cost control
• Maintain accurate project documentation across all stages of delivery
• Collaborate with design, QA QC and site teams to ensure smooth project execution
• Travel to fabrication facilities and project sites as required across Munster

About You

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Experience working on piping, steelwork or mechanical installation projects
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes and mechanical systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks or similar 3D modelling software
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across teams and with clients
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proactive and hands on approach with a strong focus on quality and delivery
