We are seeking a driven and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to take full ownership of the build, assembly, and FAT testing of skid-mounted mechanical systems for the water and wastewater sector.

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-moving project environment, enjoys working closely with multidisciplinary teams, and takes real pride in delivering robust, high-quality mechanical systems that stand up to strict industry, client, and regulatory standards.

The role is based out of Cork, working with a growing engineering team that specialises in delivering high-quality skid-mounted solutions for major water and wastewater projects across Ireland and the UK.

Mechanical Engineer Skills:
  • Mechanical build management of skid-mounted packaged systems
  • Reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings
  • Strong understanding of BS/EN standards and WIMES specifications
  • Knowledge of pressure systems and pipework fabrication
  • WRAS-approved materials and chemical dosing safety awareness
  • Experience preparing QA/QC documentation, ITPs, and FAT reports
  • Understanding of mechanical inspections, pressure testing, and PED considerations
  • Strong coordination skills across design, electrical, controls, and fabrication teams
  • Excellent attention to detail and build quality
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
As a Mechanical Engineer:
  • Manage the full mechanical build of packaged skid systems from design handover through FAT
  • Coordinate closely with design, fabrication, electrical, and controls teams to ensure accurate integration
  • Oversee build sequencing, schedules, material readiness, and subcontractor activities
  • Conduct build reviews to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and deadlines
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and assembly models to guide fabrication
  • Ensure all works comply with BS/EN standards, WIMES, and relevant industry regulations
  • Apply mechanical expertise across pressure systems, pipework, and chemical dosing safety
  • Maintain strict H&S compliance throughout all build activities
  • Prepare and maintain ITPs, build documentation, FAT records, and traceability
  • Maintain full asset register documentation including serial numbers, certifications, and data sheets
  • Support continuous improvement, standardisation, and lean manufacturing efforts
The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €60,000 plus package.
