Mechanical Estimator Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services or M&E sector.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical piping, and plumbing installations.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline is preferred.
As a Mechanical Estimator:
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping installations.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with the design, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accuracy in materials, labour, and equipment costs.
- Lead the preparation of tender submissions and support in negotiating contract terms with clients and suppliers.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and recommend the most suitable partners based on quality, cost, and project requirements.
- Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive and profitable tender submissions.
- Attend site visits and client meetings to gather project-specific details and enhance proposal accuracy.
