The Company
One of Ireland’s growing mechanical building services contractors is currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for major healthcare and hospital projects across Dublin and Ireland.
This contractor delivers complex HVAC, plumbing and mechanical installations across healthcare, commercial, industrial and residential sectors, with a strong reputation for quality delivery, technical expertise, and high standards of project coordination. Their project portfolio includes large scale works throughout Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

The Role – Mechanical Project Engineer
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of mechanical building services installations on hospital and healthcare projects.
Working closely with the Project Manager, design teams, subcontractors and commissioning teams, you will oversee mechanical installations from coordination through to testing, commissioning and handover.
This role will suit an engineer with strong HVAC and mechanical services experience who enjoys working in fast paced construction environments and wants exposure to technically complex healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Review mechanical drawings, specifications and technical submittals
- Coordinate HVAC, plumbing, chilled water, heating and ventilation installations
- Support procurement activities including equipment reviews and material approvals
- Monitor mechanical works on site to ensure quality and compliance
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams
- Attend site meetings, toolbox talks and technical coordination workshops
- Track installation progress and provide updates to senior project management
- Assist with method statements, risk assessments and project documentation
- Manage RFIs, technical queries and design clarifications
- Maintain quality documentation including ITPs, inspection records and red line drawings
- Support commissioning activities and system verification processes
- Assist with O&M manuals, as built documentation and project handover
- Ensure all works comply with health and safety procedures, IMS and ISO standards
- Work within live healthcare environments while minimising disruption to operations
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- 5 years’ experience within mechanical building services or construction engineering
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, ventilation and mechanical services coordination
- Experience working on healthcare, hospital, pharmaceutical or large commercial projects preferred
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and resolve engineering issues on site
- Strong organisational and reporting skills
- Experience using MS Office, Navisworks, Revit or BIM software
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination ability
- Strong focus on quality, safety and programme delivery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a site based project team
