Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Skills:
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
 - Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within the building services or mechanical contracting sector.
 - Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, utilities).
 - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, CostX, and other cost management tools.
 - Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
 - Strong commercial acumen with attention to detail.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
 
As a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor:
- Manage all cost-related aspects of mechanical works throughout project delivery.
 - Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents.
 - Conduct cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
 - Provide commercial input into project planning and value engineering.
 - Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure best value procurement.
 - Review and manage subcontractor accounts, progress claims, and variations.
 - Ensure that all cost and contractual controls are maintained in accordance with company procedures.
 - Liaise closely with the project management and engineering teams to ensure commercial alignment.
 - Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
 - Assist in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out documentation.
