Your new company are seeking a Site-Based Project Engineer to join their team and support their ongoing projects. You will be responsible for managing Civil/MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) works elements to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

This role requires excellent technical and organisational skills, integrity, a strong work ethic, and a focus on achieving targets while adapting to industry challenges and changes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in contracting within the water and wastewater industry, encompassing site supervision and design.
  • Thorough understanding of water and wastewater design and operational procedures.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in computer usage.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Possession of a valid, clean Irish/European driving license.
  • Authorised to work in Ireland with a valid work permit.

As a MEICA Project Engineer:  
  • Supporting the office-based design team in the intricate design of various projects
  • Conducting surveys of existing infrastructure and collaborating closely with design engineers to develop technical and commercial proposals.
  • Supervising day-to-day project operations
  • Strategising for site shutdowns and significant tie-in works.
  • Participating in routine client meetings related to projects.
  • Facilitating the setup of sites for construction tasks
  • Aiding management in defining scope descriptions and work packages.
  • Sending out RFQs to vendors and subcontractors, providing recommendations based on cost-benefit analysis and other metrics.
  • Assisting in managing subcontractor third-party vendors and design services
  • Monitoring and controlling site activities pertaining to project installations.
  • Spearheading the start-up and commissioning of process systems
  • Assisting in the qualification process for upgrades or newly installed treatment systems
  • Handing over completed works to internal or external operations personnel.
  • Enforcing health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures according to company and client standards across all contracts (PSDP and PSCS)
  • Consistently achieving company objectives for project financial performance and all aspects of project delivery (quality control, risk management, and profitability)
The Package:
The salary & package is dependent on experience and the successful candidate will be rewarded favourably, salary to be at least €68000 with transport, tax, insurance, and maintenance package, fuel card, toll tag, CWPS pension contributions and sick pay scheme membership, phone & laptop.
