As a Project Engineer, you’ll be hands-on in delivering mechanical engineering packages for water and wastewater treatment projects, covering both MEICA and civil scopes based out of Dublin.

You’ll take projects from early concept through to completion, ensuring all mechanical elements are coordinated, practical, and deliverable on the ground. Day to day, that means leading mechanical design input, liaising with supply chain and subcontractors, troubleshooting technical issues, reviewing equipment layouts, and supporting construction teams with real-time solutions.

You’ll work closely engineers to keep everything aligned, and make sure installations are safe, compliant, and built to spec. Whether it’s running site checks, guiding procurement decisions, managing risks, or representing the project in client meetings, you’ll be a key player driving delivery and quality throughout.

This role suits someone confident in mechanical systems delivery across MEICA and civil scopes, particularly for water and wastewater treatment plants. You’ll be involved from early design through to commissioning, liaising with multiple teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure that performs.

Project Engineer Skills:  
  • A degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar Project Engineer role—ideally within the water/wastewater industry.
  • Comfortable managing both design and on-site delivery of mechanical systems in complex environments.
  • Experience working across civil, process, and EICA interfaces.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines.
  • Solid understanding of H&S standards—particularly relevant to water and wastewater installations.
  • Proficiency in tools like MS Office and AutoCAD. Experience with Revit or similar design platforms is a bonus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships on- and off-site.
  • Full clean driving licence.

As a Project Engineer:  
  • Lead mechanical design input across water and wastewater treatment projects—from feasibility studies through to construction support.
  • Take ownership of system integration, working closely with electrical, civil, and process engineers.
  • Review technical drawings, assess site surveys, and drive technical solutions through to implementation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and external consultants.
  • Ensure mechanical designs are well integrated into the overall project and aligned with project goals.
  • Offer technical support across procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Oversee equipment selection—pumps, pipework, valves, and tanks—with a keen eye on compliance and practicality.
  • Assist with procurement packages and make sure installations are fit-for-purpose and meet all specs.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor works, resolve technical queries, and ensure quality and safety compliance.
  • Flag and address issues early—whether they’re technical snags or scope changes—and help keep the schedule on track.
  • Provide concise progress updates, contribute to planning, and maintain clear documentation.
  • Be a point of contact for client queries, offering clarity and assurance throughout the job.
  • Share your experience with junior team members and contribute to a collaborative project culture.
  • Play your part in building strong, results-driven teams that deliver projects the right way.


The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least to €60,000 plus package.
