A well established international engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure across water, civil engineering, energy and utilities. Their Irish business is expanding rapidly within the water and wastewater sector, delivering critical treatment plant upgrades, new pumping stations and network infrastructure for national utilities and local authorities.
With a strong reputation for engineering excellence, safety and project delivery, the company provides full design to commissioning solutions across complex MEICA and civil projects. Their Dublin based water division is growing as investment in Ireland’s water infrastructure continues to increase.
The Role – Project Engineer
This Project Engineer role sits within the water and wastewater delivery team and focuses on the mechanical engineering and MEICA elements of treatment plant and pumping station projects.
Working alongside civil, electrical, process and ICA engineers, you will manage the design, procurement and installation of mechanical systems including pumps, pipework, valves and treatment equipment. The role involves both office based engineering coordination and regular site engagement to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
This position offers strong long term career development within a busy infrastructure sector with significant investment and pipeline of projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design development for water and wastewater treatment projects
- Coordinate MEICA systems with civil, electrical, process and instrumentation disciplines
- Manage procurement and specification of mechanical equipment including pumps, valves, tanks and pipework
- Review and manage subcontractor design submissions and installation works
- Carry out site inspections to monitor progress, resolve technical issues and maintain programme
- Ensure mechanical works meet project specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Support project planning, reporting and programme tracking
- Maintain strong communication with clients and project stakeholders throughout delivery
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, quality and environmental standards
- Mentor junior engineers and support the wider engineering team where required
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Project Engineer within water, wastewater or utilities infrastructure
- Experience delivering mechanical or MEICA packages on treatment plants or pumping stations
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering coordination across civil, electrical and process design
- Commercial awareness with the ability to monitor project budgets and schedules
- Strong technical problem solving ability and attention to detail
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures within engineering or construction projects
- Proficiency with MS Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD or Revit
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage subcontractors and stakeholders effectively
