The Role: Project Manager
This is a key Project Manager position overseeing live ESB substation and utilities infrastructure projects in Finglas, Co Dublin.
The successful Project Manager will take full responsibility for programme delivery, subcontractor coordination, client liaison, safety compliance, and commercial oversight on technically complex energy infrastructure works.
The role involves managing works within live substation environments, including concrete structures, underground services, ducting, steel frame construction, and specialist civil engineering packages while ensuring all works are delivered in line with ESB procedures and operational requirements.
This role suits a Project Manager with strong utilities or heavy construction experience who is comfortable managing live site environments with strict safety and operational controls.

- Must have 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager on Irish construction or utilities projects
- Proven experience required on ESB, substation, or live utilities infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of ESB safety procedures and live working environments required
- Experience managing subcontractors and programme delivery on complex construction projects is essential
- Main contractor experience in Ireland is required
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working under ESB CMP13 and OBN198 procedures beneficial
- Background in energy, utilities, or power infrastructure projects preferred
- Experience managing reinforced concrete and underground ducting packages advantageous
- Strong client-facing and reporting skills preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day delivery of ESB substation and utilities infrastructure projects
- Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and specialist contractors
- Ensure all works are completed safely within live substation environments
- Oversee programme delivery, sequencing, and project milestones
- Maintain strict compliance with ESB procedures, permits, and operational requirements
- Manage reinforced concrete works, underground services, steel frame packages, and site infrastructure
- Liaise closely with ESB representatives, consultants, and senior management teams
- Monitor quality standards, inspections, and technical compliance
- Maintain accurate reporting, site records, and commercial updates
- Drive health & safety standards across all site operations
