The Company
This is an established Irish engineering contractor delivering complex mechanical, process and industrial projects across Ireland and mainland Europe.
The business has a growing presence in Germany and works across technically demanding sectors where strong commercial control, procurement and subcontractor management are central to successful project delivery. The company offers a practical working environment with experienced engineering, project management and commercial teams supporting projects from pre-construction through to final account.
The Role: Quantity Surveyor
This Quantity Surveyor role will be based in Germany, supporting the commercial delivery of large-scale mechanical and engineering projects.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, engineering team and senior commercial management, taking responsibility for cost control, subcontractor accounts, variations, valuations and commercial reporting.
The role will suit a Quantity Surveyor with experience in mechanical engineering, M&E construction or industrial projects who is comfortable working in a project-based environment in Germany.
Must Have Requirements
You will have a Quantity Surveying or commercial construction background with experience working on mechanical, M&E, industrial or technically complex construction projects.
You should be commercially sharp, comfortable dealing with subcontractors and suppliers and capable of maintaining accurate cost information throughout the project.
Strong communication skills are important as you will work closely with engineering, site and project management teams while also reporting into the wider commercial function.
You will need to be organised, practical and confident managing several commercial priorities while maintaining control of programme-related costs and contractual requirements.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, mechanical engineering or M&E contracting
- Proven experience required in cost control, subcontractor management and commercial reporting
- Experience managing variations, valuations and final accounts is required
- Must be willing to work on projects in Germany
- Mechanical or process engineering project experience preferred
- Experience working with an engineering contractor or M&E contractor beneficial
- Previous European project experience would be an advantage
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures
- Manage project costs from mobilisation through to final account
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and applications for payment
- Assess, price and manage project variations
- Manage subcontractor procurement, appointments, payments and final accounts
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance
- Prepare regular cost reports for senior management
- Work closely with Project Managers to identify commercial risks and opportunities
- Maintain accurate records supporting variations, claims and contractual correspondence
- Assist with procurement of materials, specialist packages and subcontractors
- Support contract administration throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure strong commercial control is maintained across projects in Germany
