The Role – Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer

As a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing and repair of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple project sites. You will play a key role in ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely and in line with current F Gas and environmental regulations.

This role suits a fully qualified Refrigeration Technician who is confident working independently, capable of fault finding and diagnostics, and comfortable liaising directly with clients and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems in commercial fit out and refurbishment projects
• Service, maintenance and repair of split systems, VRV VRF systems, chilled water units and associated plant
• Fault finding and diagnostics on HVAC electrical and mechanical components
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
• Ensuring all works are completed in line with health and safety regulations and energy efficiency standards
• Completing job sheets, service reports and documentation accurately
• Advising clients on system performance improvements and energy efficiency upgrades
• Collaborating with project managers and other trades to ensure coordinated delivery
• Maintaining tools, company vehicle and work areas to a high standard
• Participating in emergency call outs when required

About You

• Fully qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician with completed apprenticeship
• Minimum 3 to 4 years post qualification experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical HVAC systems
• Valid F Gas certification essential
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling
• Full clean Irish driving licence
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional attitude with a strong focus on quality and safety
• Good communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
