Based in Limerick, Co Limerick, this role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of water and wastewater treatment projects throughout Munster and across the wider Irish utilities sector.
The Role: Senior Electrical Project Engineer
As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of complex MEICA and civil infrastructure projects within the water and wastewater sector.
Working closely with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, process, ICA, BIM, and health & safety professionals, you will be responsible for coordinating electrical design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and project delivery activities from initial planning through to project completion.
This role requires a commercially aware Senior Electrical Project Engineer with strong technical knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills, and proven experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects.

Salary: €70,000 to €80,000 DOE

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience required delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Project Engineer or Senior Electrical Engineer
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and automation technologies
- Full clean Irish or EU driving licence required
- Experience working under NEC4 contracts preferred
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership beneficial
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Knowledge of SCADA, PLC, and process control systems advantageous
- Experience within utilities, energy, or industrial process sectors beneficial
- Lead the electrical delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects from design through to commissioning
- Coordinate with civil, process, mechanical, ICA, BIM, and project delivery teams
- Support senior management in achieving contractual and commercial project objectives
- Manage procurement of electrical equipment and specialist subcontract packages
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities
- Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships throughout project delivery
- Monitor project costs, programme milestones, risks, and quality requirements
- Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and project updates for management and clients
- Resolve technical, commercial, programme, and resource challenges as they arise
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practice throughout the business
- Strong technical background in electrical engineering and infrastructure delivery
- Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and programme requirements
- Excellent communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Organised and capable of managing multiple project priorities simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed technical decisions
- Collaborative approach with experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments
- Driven, proactive, and focused on successful project delivery
Salary: €70,000 to €80,000 DOE
