Are you a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer? Maybe you are looking to return home to Co Mayo or maybe you are looking for a new experience? You will have a strong background in metal fabrication and mechanical systems, with a particular focus on pipework design and fabrication.

Your new team, who are a multidisciplinary high skill level with extensive experience in processing a wide variety of metals, including Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminium, enable them to meet all their fabrication needs.

Their core services encompass Pipework Design and Fabrication in stainless and carbon steel, structural steel, high purity stainless steel pipework for the manufacturing, healthcare, and life science sectors, along with onsite mechanical installations.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, regulations, codes, and other relevant project materials.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components and systems.
  • Familiarity with mechanical materials, means, and methods.
  • Proficient IT skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Frequent travel across all regions of operation within the business unit is required.
  • Hold a recognized qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, with over three years of relevant field experience.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer:  
  • Review contract documents, specifications, and design drawings to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Prepare and present reports on conformance and non-conformance issues to management.
  • Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and inspect on-site work to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Develop project measures before construction begins, in alignment with the project program.
  • Understand the necessary steps for testing, commissioning, and handing over the project before the commissioning period starts.
  • Ensure the quality of materials and workmanship meets design specifications, quality standards, and regulations.
  • Report on quality-related matters, including third-party inspections, progress, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) issues, and delays.
  • Maintain project budgets and deliver promised results to the client on time, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all project stakeholders, ensuring strong team communication and cooperation for successful project completion.
  • Keep a site diary/daybook.
