Your Role: Senior Project Planner – HV / Substations
As Senior Project Planner, you'll take charge of developing and leading integrated construction schedules, ensuring projects are delivered on time, in scope, and with effective risk management. You'll also mentor junior planners, streamline planning processes, and play a pivotal role in governance and client coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage Level 1–4 integrated programmes using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Identify critical path activities, resource constraints, and implement early-warning / recovery strategies.
- Lead schedule reporting for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support tender planning, bid submissions, and client-side negotiations.
- Mentor junior planners and enhance internal planning practices.
- Collaborate across design, procurement, commercial, and delivery teams.
- Ensure alignment with contracts such as NEC and FIDIC and apply earned value principles.
What You’ll Need:
- 3rd level qualification (e.g., Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying) or a strong technical/trade background.
- 5+ years’ experience planning HV substation, utilities, or energy infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory); Power BI will be advantageous.
- Understanding of HV/MV construction methods, interface management, and best practices.
- Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC contracts, programme control, and earned value analysis.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
