As a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer, you will take a leading role in the delivery of complex electrical engineering projects across the Energy and Industrial sectors, working from concept through to construction and commissioning.

You will bring extensive experience in power infrastructure, renewable energy, and industrial electrical systems, and will be comfortable leading technically demanding projects while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to ensure high-quality, compliant, and efficient design delivery.

As a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer, you will:

• Hold an Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering (Chartered Engineer status is advantageous but not essential).
  
  
• Have 10 years’ experience working at Senior Engineer level within an engineering consultancy or similar environment.
  
  
• Demonstrate strong experience delivering Energy, Power, or Industrial electrical projects.
  
  
• Possess in-depth knowledge of MV/LV distribution systems and substation design.
  
  
• Have proven expertise in protection & control, grid connections, and power systems studies.
  
  
• Be experienced in renewable energy projects including solar PV, wind, BESS, and hybrid energy systems.
  
  
• Show a strong understanding of HV and underground cable systems, transformers, and earthing/grounding design.
  
  
• Have excellent knowledge of relevant standards including ETCI, IEC, BS, IS, EN, and CIBSE (where applicable).
  
  
• Be proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux, and Revit (power system analysis tools an advantage).
  
  
• Communicate confidently with clients, network operators, architects, contractors, and project managers.
  
  
• Be comfortable producing detailed technical reports, specifications, and tender documentation.
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the electrical design delivery for Energy and Industrial projects.
  
  
• Develop primary and secondary electrical designs for MV/LV distribution systems.
  
  
• Design and specify substation systems including AIS and GIS configurations.
  
  
• Undertake power systems studies including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and grid connection studies.
  
  
• Support renewable energy integration including solar PV, wind, BESS, and microgrid solutions.
  
  
• Prepare detailed electrical schematics, single line diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications.
  
  
• Specify key electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, HV/LV cables, and protection devices.
  
  
• Develop and review earthing/grounding system designs to meet standards and site requirements.
  
  
• Produce detailed tender packages, technical reports, and tender analysis/recommendations.
  
  
• Attend site inspections and support installation and commissioning activities.
  
  
• Mentor and technically support junior engineers.
  
  
• Contribute to the development and improvement of internal electrical design standards.
  
  
• Manage projects from concept to handover, taking ownership of technical delivery.
  
  

The Package:

• Salary: DOE – expected to be €85,000
