As Senior QS, you will take ownership of the commercial delivery of high-voltage projects, ensuring cost-effective execution while supporting project teams. You’ll manage contract administration, valuations, procurement, and client negotiations, playing a central role in the success of these large-scale engineering works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on cost control, valuations, contract administration, and reporting
- Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts
- Oversee procurement and supplier negotiations to secure best value outcomes
- Assess risks, implement mitigation strategies, and provide commercial advice
- Act as the key commercial contact with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior QS staff, driving best practice across the team
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience as a QS on projects over £7M in electrical or infrastructure scope
- Strong knowledge of NEC / JCT contracts and their application
- Proven background in HV, substations, cabling, or power transmission projects
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Up to £80,000 + package
