The Company
This major civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivers complex transport, rail and heavy civils projects across Ireland and the UK.
With a strong pipeline of infrastructure work in Dublin and the wider Leinster region, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team on a large rail and civil engineering project in North Dublin.
The Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a key commercial role on a large rail infrastructure project in North Dublin, working closely with the project, site and wider commercial teams.
You will manage cost control, forecasting, procurement, subcontractor accounts, valuations and change management while maintaining an accurate commercial position throughout the project.
The role will also involve supporting junior members of the commercial team and working closely with the client on contractual and commercial matters.

About You
You are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years’ commercial experience and a strong understanding of civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
You will be commercially astute, comfortable managing subcontractor accounts and client applications, and confident dealing with procurement, forecasting, contract administration, change and final accounts.
Experience working on rail, roads or other major transport infrastructure projects would suit this position particularly well.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 5+ years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or commercial management
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline required
- Strong civil engineering or infrastructure experience required
- Excellent knowledge of contract administration, procurement, cost control and change management
- Full driving licence required
Preferred Experience
- Rail or transportation infrastructure experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Public Works Contracts beneficial
- Knowledge of TII methods of measurement beneficial
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor status or equivalent would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project forecasts, Cost to Complete reports and commercial risk registers
- Produce monthly CVRs and maintain accurate cost reporting throughout the project
- Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules
- Prepare subcontract and professional services tender documentation
- Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts through to final account agreement
- Prepare valuations and applications for payment with supporting documentation
- Manage variations, change and compensation events
- Monitor project cash flow, WIP, accruals and cost control
- Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options
- Maintain accurate commercial and contractual records
- Liaise closely with the client, site team and project management team
- Support and develop junior members of the commercial team
