The Company
This specialist fire protection contractor operates from its headquarters in Co Westmeath, delivering engineered fire sprinkler and fire protection systems across Ireland and Europe.
With design, engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning and service capabilities in-house, the business works across data centres, residential, commercial, industrial, pharma and other technically demanding sectors.
The Role: Small Works Engineer
As Small Works Engineer, you will be based from Co Westmeath, with regular travel to sites to manage smaller mechanical fire protection projects, alterations and upgrade works.
You will take projects from initial site survey and planning through procurement, coordination, installation and handover, working closely with site teams, clients, subcontractors and the wider engineering department.
This would suit a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of their own jobs rather than working on one large project for an extended period.

About You
You will be a practical Mechanical Engineer who is comfortable splitting your time between HQ and live sites.
You should be organised, commercially aware and capable of managing several smaller jobs at different stages. Fire sprinkler experience would be particularly useful, but engineers from a strong mechanical, pipework or building services background will also be considered.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a mechanical engineering qualification or relevant mechanical background
- Proven experience required in mechanical construction, building services or project engineering
- Must be comfortable managing site works and coordinating with clients and contractors
- Full driving licence required
Preferred Experience
- Fire sprinkler or fire protection experience desirable
- Experience with mechanical pipework systems beneficial
- Previous experience managing small works or multiple live projects preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Manage small works projects from survey through to handover
- Coordinate labour, materials, procurement and site requirements
- Review drawings and resolve mechanical installation issues
- Liaise with clients, site teams and subcontractors
- Monitor programme, quality, safety and project progress
- Maintain project records and close-out documentation
