Tendering Engineer Skills:
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience in HV/MV tendering and estimating (10kV–220kV)
- Proven ability to interpret client tender documentation for power infrastructure projects
- Solid understanding of HV substations, AIS, GIS, transmission lines, and grid connections
- Experience across primary and/or secondary substation design (advantageous)
- Knowledge of utility tendering processes and full project lifecycles
- Familiarity with ESB and EirGrid standards (desirable, not essential)
- Ability to interpret civil scope for accurate cost estimation
- Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D and/or EPLAN (desirable)
- Strong commercial awareness and cost-risk assessment capability
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
- Review and interpret client tender documents for HV and MV electrical infrastructure projects
- Prepare fully compliant technical and commercial bid submissions
- Develop cost estimates, bills of quantities, and pricing strategies
- Assess project risk and contribute to bid strategy and value engineering proposals
- Develop outline project programmes aligned with technical scope
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and technical data
- Coordinate with internal design and delivery teams during bid preparation
- Manage multiple tenders concurrently to meet strict submission deadlines
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and support handover to execution teams
- Track tender progress and documentation using internal systems and reporting tools
