Electrical Engineer Skills:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on infrastructure, utilities, or industrial electrical projects – ideally in the water sector.
- Solid understanding of LV systems, instrumentation and control, and motor control centres (MCCs).
- Experience working with electrical design software and familiarity with CAD packages.
- Strong knowledge of applicable regulations including the ET101 National Rules for Electrical Installations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across Ireland.
As an Electrical Engineer:
- Support the electrical scope of work across multiple projects from planning through to commissioning.
- Oversee the design review and validation of electrical systems for water/wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, telemetry installations, and utilities infrastructure.
- Collaborate with in-house civil, mechanical, and project management teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Prepare and review electrical documentation including cable schedules, load assessments, single line diagrams (SLDs), panel layouts, and control schematics.
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality standards, timely procurement, and technical compliance.
- Carry out site inspections, FAT/SAT witnessing, and commissioning oversight to ensure systems meet design intent and regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures and standards.
- Provide support during project handover including O&M documentation, as-built drawings, and training to the operations teams.
