Electrical Project Manager Skills:
- 5–7 years in a project management role with a strong electrical background.
- Trade or third-level qualification in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Proven experience managing large-scale electrical installation projects.
- Deep knowledge of relevant codes and safety regulations, and familiarity with inspection and test procedures (including safe electric certification).
- Strong commercial understanding, comfortable managing costs, claims, variations, and ensuring healthy margins.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, you know how to motivate teams and keep clients informed.
- Proficiency with MS Project and Excel, able to track and forecast with accuracy.
- Familiarity with process-driven environments, especially in gas or water treatment projects
- Hands-on knowledge of building services systems such as LV/MV distribution, fire alarms, emergency lighting, comms, and security
As an Electrical Project Manager:
- Oversee delivery of electrical works from start to finish, including commissioning and client sign-off.
- Lead large teams across multiple projects, driving productivity and maintaining high standards.
- Plan and coordinate resources, labour, materials, and subcontractors, against tight schedules and budgets.
- Take charge of technical submittals, RFIs, test packs, and handover documentation.
- Ensure works are fully compliant with industry standards, including BCAR 2014, Safe Electric, and IS10101:2020 (amendments included).
- Manage quality control through the lifecycle of the build, tracking progress, conducting inspections, and solving issues before they become problems.
- Run weekly or bi-weekly meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Handle procurement of materials, plant, and equipment aligned with project financials.
- Actively monitor project milestones, KPIs, and margins, with full responsibility for profitability.
- Collaborate closely with the client and develop strong, long-lasting relationships.
