The Role Electrical QA Engineer
As Electrical QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring all electrical installations meet project specifications, regulatory standards and strict quality benchmarks. Working on large scale data centre, pharmaceutical and industrial construction projects, you will support site teams through inspections, audits and commissioning activities.
This position is central to maintaining quality, compliance and programme performance across complex M&E installations. You will liaise closely with project managers, site supervisors, commissioning teams and client representatives to ensure all electrical works are delivered to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and project quality plans
• Ensure compliance with ETCI, IS 10101, IEC and BS electrical standards
• Inspect containment, cabling, terminations, switchgear, MCCs, LV and MV systems, generators, UPS and distribution systems
• Witness and verify electrical testing including insulation resistance, continuity, loop impedance and RCD testing
• Monitor ITP hold points and witness points and ensure full compliance
• Identify non conformances, issue NCRs and track corrective actions through to close out
• Compile and review test packs, redline drawings and as built documentation
• Prepare QA QC reports for internal management and client teams
• Support commissioning activities and client walkdowns
• Maintain accurate inspection records in line with project and regulatory requirements
About You
• Trade qualified Electrician or Degree qualified Electrical Engineer
• 3 to 5 years plus experience in an Electrical QA QC role within construction or M&E contracting
• Experience working on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or large commercial projects
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing procedures and regulatory standards
• Experience working with ITPs, commissioning documentation and quality systems
• Highly organised with strong reporting and documentation skills
• Clear communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with site teams
• Valid Safe Pass and relevant site certifications
