With a strong pipeline of work in Portugal and across mainland Europe, they continue to invest in experienced mechanical professionals who can successfully deliver large-scale mechanical packages on technically demanding projects.

The Role: Mechanical Package Manager

Based on a major data centre development in Sintra, Lisbon, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package from design coordination through procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.

This Mechanical Package Manager role will see you working closely with project management, subcontractors, consultants and the commercial team to ensure mechanical works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Particular experience managing large-scale industrial piping packages is essential.

Must Have Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Package Manager or Mechanical Project Manager on large-scale construction projects
  • Hands-on experience managing complex mechanical and industrial piping packages
  • Experience working for a main contractor on data centre, pharmaceutical or industrial construction projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, commissioning and programme delivery
  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification required
Preferred Experience

  • Data centre construction experience
  • Design and Build project experience
  • Experience managing mechanical subcontractors across multiple work fronts
  • Strong commercial awareness and change management experience
Nice to Have

  • Experience working on European construction projects
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and commissioning processes
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and construction management software
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of the complete mechanical package from design coordination through commissioning
  • Manage large-scale piping installations and mechanical services throughout the project lifecycle
  • Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, consultants and suppliers to maintain programme milestones
  • Monitor health and safety performance, promoting a strong site safety culture
  • Manage labour, materials, plant and subcontractor resources efficiently
  • Track project costs, variations and commercial performance alongside the commercial team
  • Attend progress meetings and provide accurate reporting on programme, quality and commercial status
  • Coordinate procurement activities and material deliveries to support programme delivery
  • Manage snagging, QA documentation, testing records and project handover documentation
  • Support project close-out, including O&M manuals, commissioning records and final documentation
About You

You are an experienced Mechanical Package Manager with a strong background delivering large mechanical packages on technically challenging construction projects. You have managed industrial piping systems, understand programme delivery, and are confident coordinating multiple subcontractors within a live site environment.

You communicate effectively with clients, consultants and site teams while maintaining a strong focus on quality, safety and commercial performance. Your ability to manage competing priorities ensures successful delivery from design through commissioning.
