The Role – Mechanical Site Supervisor
As a Mechanical Site Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of mechanical works on live construction sites while remaining hands-on when required. You will manage site operatives and apprentices, coordinate with project and operations management, and ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
This is a working supervisor role suited to a time-served plumber or mechanical supervisor who enjoys being present on site and leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing mechanical installation works across commercial and residential projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and layouts using construction management software
• Leading mechanical operatives and apprentices on site
• Coordinating with project managers, subcontractors and main contractors
• Identifying and raising site issues, delays and RFIs in a timely manner
• Ensuring works comply with quality assurance standards and specifications
• Overseeing testing and commissioning in coordination with QA teams
• Maintaining accurate site records, reports and documentation
• Monitoring site health and safety, carrying out inspections and addressing hazards
• Managing materials, deliveries and logistics with the procurement team
• Handling incidents and near misses in line with company safety procedures
About You
• Time-served plumber or mechanical trades background
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Site Supervisor or Working Supervisor
• Strong knowledge of mechanical services installation
• Confident managing site teams and subcontractors
• Excellent communication skills with contractors and project teams
• Ability to work under pressure and meet programme deadlines
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft applications and site software
• Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites
• All relevant and valid safety documentation in place
