MEICA Project Engineer Skills:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years' experience in the water or wastewater sector in a similar engineering role.
- A team player with a hands-on approach and the confidence to contribute in meetings.
- Comfortable working with suppliers and subcontractors from procurement to project delivery.
- A problem-solver who can think on their feet and adapt as challenges come up.
- Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with GPS, total station, and CAD is a plus.
- Good communication skills and plenty of drive.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and automation in water treatment settings.
- Familiarity with NEC4 contracts.
- Experience using project management tools and software like MS Project, AutoCAD, and Trimble Pro-Design.
As a MEICA Project Engineer:
- Collaborating across teams to design, develop, and deliver mechanical solutions.
- Making sure health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards are followed on-site at all times.
- Preparing and reviewing Method Statements and Risk Assessments before work begins.
- Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard, including testing and commissioning in line with quality plans.
- Compiling and submitting O&M manuals, safety files, and as-built drawings for handover.
- Ensuring designs, materials, and workmanship meet the project specs.
- Scoping out project needs, planning activities, and contributing to project reviews.
- Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, site staff, commercial teams, and the wider project group.
- Supporting project delivery across one or more sites as part of the team.
- Taking part in regular review meetings to keep everything on track.
