The Role – MEICA Project Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical or MEICA Engineer to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering water and wastewater treatment projects across Ireland. Working alongside experienced project managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will support the design review, installation, commissioning and delivery of MEICA systems on infrastructure projects.
You will be involved in electrical installation, control systems, testing and commissioning activities while coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out detailed design reviews to ensure EICA and MEICA systems meet project specifications
• Oversee daily electrical and control system activities on site
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure installations are delivered on schedule
• Monitor electrical installations including power distribution, lighting and control systems
• Support the installation of low voltage systems and instrumentation equipment
• Assist with testing and commissioning of MEICA systems alongside commissioning engineers
• Ensure electrical works comply with project drawings, specifications and industry standards
• Implement quality control procedures and carry out inspections of electrical installations
• Identify and address non conformances and support corrective actions
• Promote strong health and safety standards across all project activities
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery
• Assist with subcontractor management including scope definition and performance monitoring
• Maintain accurate project documentation and technical records
• Support project planning, site investigations and engineering coordination activities
About You
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or a technical diploma with relevant experience
• 1 to 5 years experience working in electrical engineering or MEICA project environments
• Experience on infrastructure, utilities or construction projects is advantageous
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability
• Good understanding of electrical installations, control systems and commissioning processes
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks on site
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Full Irish or EU driving licence
