As an MEP Estimator, your role is to take ownership of the mechanical and electrical pricing on high-value projects, working closely with the pre-construction and commercial teams based out of Co Kildare.

You'll be responsible for reviewing tender documentation, liaising with supply chain partners, and preparing accurate and competitive M&E cost plans and bid submissions.

You’ll bring both technical and commercial awareness to the table, ensuring all elements of the MEP package are accounted for and aligned with project scope, risk, and programme expectations.

MEP Estimator Skills:  
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, or related.
  • 5+ years of experience in M&E estimating, ideally with a contractor or cost consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and public health systems, including pricing benchmarks.
  • Commercial awareness and a good understanding of supply chain capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Trimble, ConQuest, Cubit, or similar).
  • Strong communication skills—comfortable dealing with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with projects in pharma, cleanrooms, data centres, or similar technical sectors.
  • Familiarity with BIM coordination or 3D takeoff tools.

As an MEP Estimator:  
  • Prepare detailed M&E cost estimates from early-stage budgets through to fully coordinated tender returns.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and schedules to fully understand project scope and risks.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive and technically sound quotes.
  • Lead MEP take-offs and quantification using drawing sets and digital estimating tools.
  • Support value engineering processes and alternative solution reviews.
  • Collaborate with pre-construction, design, and planning teams to ensure alignment between costs, programme, and technical requirements.
  • Input into bid strategies, submission documents, and tender presentations where needed.
  • Track market trends and material/labour fluctuations to inform pricing strategy.

The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €85,000 plus package.
