This international engineering services contractor is a recognised leader in the delivery of complex electrical infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Operating across the power transmission, renewables, utilities, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors, the business has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-voltage electrical infrastructure safely, efficiently and to the highest technical standards.

With a substantial pipeline of Power & Renewables projects across Ireland, they are now seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Dublin.

The Role: Project Quantity Surveyor

Working from the Dublin office while supporting projects across Ireland, you will take ownership of the commercial management of HV substation, switchgear and cable infrastructure projects from contract award through to final account.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Planning Engineers, Engineers and clients to ensure projects remain commercially successful, maintaining accurate cost reporting, valuations, subcontractor management and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in electrical infrastructure, utilities, renewables or major M&E projects looking to progress within one of Ireland's leading engineering contractors.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have a third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor on power, utilities, electrical infrastructure, M&E or civil engineering projects.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, subcontract management and commercial reporting.
• Experience preparing interim valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and commercial management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on HV substations, switchgear, cable infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• Knowledge of standard construction contracts and contract administration.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting skills.
• Experience working closely with Project Managers and Planning Engineers.
• Electrical Engineering or electrical trade background would be advantageous.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NEC, FIDIC or other engineering contracts.
• Knowledge of HV electrical infrastructure and substation projects.
• Commercial experience within the Power & Renewables sector.
• Experience working for a main contractor or engineering contractor.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial delivery of HV substation and electrical infrastructure projects.
• Prepare project budgets, BOQs, cost reports and profit forecasts.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations and final accounts.
• Prepare and submit interim applications for payment.
• Administer contract obligations and commercial reporting requirements.
• Identify commercial risks and report findings to senior management.
• Manage project variations, dayworks, change orders and remeasurement activities.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with Planning Engineers to ensure accurate progress reporting.
• Support Project Managers with commercial advice throughout project delivery.
• Attend commercial meetings with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and final accounts where required.

About You

You are a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with experience delivering electrical infrastructure, utilities, renewables or M&E projects.

You understand the commercial lifecycle of engineering contracts, are confident managing client and subcontractor relationships, and enjoy taking ownership of project finances from tender through to final account.

You are organised, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering accurate commercial reporting in a fast-paced project environment.
