Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical & Piping Projects

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong mechanical services knowledge to lead the commercial delivery of mechanical and piping projects based out of Co. Mayo.

This role will suit a commercially astute QS who understands the realities of mechanical installation, including pipework, plant, HVAC and associated systems, and who is comfortable taking ownership of project finances from pre-construction through to final account.

You will work closely with project managers, engineers and site teams, providing leadership and commercial control across multiple live projects.

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
• Strong experience working as a QS within a mechanical or M&E contracting environment
• Excellent technical understanding of mechanical systems including pipework, plant, HVAC and process services
• Proven experience managing project budgets, valuations, variations and final accounts
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement and commercial administration
• Ability to lead the commercial function on projects with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with site and engineering teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Full clean Irish driving licence and ability to work from a Co. Mayo base

As a Quantity Surveyor:

• Take ownership of the commercial management of mechanical and piping projects from tender through completion
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans and cashflow forecasts
• Measure, value and report on mechanical works including variations and change orders
• Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts and commercial performance
• Prepare interim valuations, monthly cost reports and final accounts
• Work closely with project managers and engineers to monitor labour, materials and job costs
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies
• Support contract administration and ensure accurate commercial records are maintained
• Provide commercial leadership and guidance to junior staff where required
• Liaise with clients, consultants and internal teams to ensure commercial objectives are met

The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of  at least €75,000 plus package.
