The Role – Senior Electrical Project Engineer
As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will take a lead role in managing the electrical engineering aspects of projects from design review through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
You will be responsible for ensuring technical compliance, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors, and driving quality, safety, and programme delivery on site. This is a senior position with a strong focus on leadership, technical excellence, and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead design reviews of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project and regulatory standards
• Develop and present engineering solutions including calculations, sketches, and reports
• Interpret design and IFC drawings, ensuring full understanding of project scope and requirements
• Manage RFIs and coordinate with design teams to resolve technical issues
• Review and manage technical submittals and supplier packages
• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
• Utilise engineering software such as Dialux, Relux, Amtech, Navisworks, and BIM platforms to support design and coordination
• Support quality processes including BCAR inspections and sustainability requirements such as LEED and BREEAM
• Oversee subcontractor coordination and commissioning activities
• Manage preparation of O&M manuals, test packs, and handover documentation
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development
• Ensure all works are delivered in line with safety, quality, and programme requirements
About You
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical project engineering within construction or building services
• Strong background in data centre, commercial, or large scale building projects
• Proven ability to lead technical delivery and support project teams
• Advanced knowledge of electrical standards, fire alarm systems, and emergency lighting regulations in Ireland
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and common engineering software tools
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
• Client facing experience with a professional and confident approach
