The Company

This specialist engineering contractor delivers technically complex electrical and building services projects across Ireland and Europe. Operating across mission-critical, advanced technology, pharmaceutical, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, the company has built a strong reputation for engineering excellence, quality delivery, and technical innovation.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering delivery across major projects and support the development of engineering standards across the business.

The Role: Senior Engineering Manager

Reporting to senior project leadership, the Senior Engineering Manager will take responsibility for managing the engineering function throughout project delivery, ensuring engineering standards, technical compliance, quality systems, commissioning processes, and project documentation are delivered to the highest standards.

You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams while working closely with construction, commissioning, BIM, commercial, and client teams to ensure successful project execution.

This is a senior leadership position requiring strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and proven experience delivering complex electrical infrastructure and building services projects.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have a Level 8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Must have 10 years' experience in Electrical Engineering within construction, building services, mission-critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, or advanced technology sectors.
• Proven experience managing engineering teams on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of MV and LV electrical systems, UPS systems, generators, transformers, critical power systems, and associated infrastructure.
• Experience managing technical submittals, RFIs, commissioning activities, engineering quality systems, and design coordination.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as a Senior Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, or Senior Electrical Engineering Manager.
• Strong understanding of commissioning planning and integrated systems testing.
• Experience managing BIM coordination and engineering design interfaces.
• Knowledge of value engineering, project controls, and commercial management.
• Experience working in highly regulated or mission-critical environments.

Nice to Have

• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Experience delivering projects across Ireland or Europe.
• Knowledge of digital engineering platforms and BIM workflows.
• Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage engineering teams to ensure engineering standards and project requirements are achieved.
• Direct and oversee the production of construction drawings through to final record drawings.
• Manage technical submittals, RFIs, commissioning systems, and engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure engineering quality systems are implemented and maintained across projects.
• Coordinate with BIM teams to ensure effective design coordination and integration of services.
• Ensure electrical safety systems comply with project requirements and company safety procedures.
• Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with specifications, building regulations, and industry standards.
• Review installation quality and provide technical guidance to resolve engineering and coordination issues.
• Attend client meetings, technical workshops, project reviews, and progress meetings.
• Prepare engineering reports and project updates for senior management.
• Support commissioning teams in developing and implementing commissioning plans.
• Drive value engineering initiatives while maintaining technical integrity and project performance.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across the business.

About You

You are an experienced Electrical Engineering leader with a strong track record in the delivery of complex construction and engineering projects.

You combine technical expertise with practical construction knowledge and can confidently engage with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and senior project stakeholders.

You understand the importance of engineering quality, safety, commissioning readiness, and programme delivery and are comfortable leading teams in technically demanding environments.
